From today, progress.aton-network.org is public. Anyone can see what we have built, counted from our repositories rather than claimed, and whether the services the public uses are working right now. This post explains what is on it, and what launched across Atheron today.
Progress, computed
The tracker's numbers come from what each repository says about itself. They change when a repository does, not when we decide they should. Nobody here can move them by hand.
Each piece of work is counted as done, building, awaiting audit, blocked or planned. Anything waiting on an independent audit cannot show as finished, however much review it has had. If no repository has reported, the tracker says so plainly instead of showing an encouraging number.
What you will find
- Projects. Every project, broken into its pieces, phase by phase.
- Status. Every service the public uses, from the same checks our team watches, every thirty seconds. Each of the last ninety days is coloured by the worst thing that happened in it.
- Changelog. What changed, and when.
- Roadmap. What each phase is waiting on. Dates are left out on purpose: a date on a roadmap is a promise the code has not made.
What launched today
Today was a launch day for more than this tracker. Each project now says where it stands, in its own words.
| Project | What opened today |
|---|---|
| Atheron Network Labs | Open for projects, at aton-network.org |
| The trading platform | Pre-order reservations open. Paper trading only until launch |
| The ATON chain | The site and its waitlist, at aton-chain.com |
| ATON Desk | Coming soon, with a waitlist at aton-desk.com |
The trading platform trades with paper money only until launch, and we publish no figure for how it performs. ATON Desk is not open to customers yet. The chain is being built, and its site says plainly what is not decided.
What the tracker does not say
It does not say how anything works inside, what it cost or who built it. Most of our work is in private repositories, and their notes are the right level of detail for us and the wrong one for a public page.
What you will read here
This blog is where the counting gets words. We will write about what moved, what shipped and what is next. The changelog and the roadmap stay the record; these posts explain them.
